The only major change that happened in 2003 was the replacement of the Salisbury axle with a new one with a P38 "Wolf" differential.

The actual change happened according to VIN numbers sometime during this year, so what we really know is 2002 Defenders had the Salisbury axle and 2004 Defenders had the P38 axle. Check out your axle code to see which you have.
